SCD have been very busy the past few months, even though we have lacked blog updates. Here is a rundown of recent activities and pictures to follow.
Members are busy building a electronic sign trailer. Production is wrapping up with paint, laying down the roof, and hookup of the electronics. A 12vDC to 120vAC inverter was installed so we have the capability of using either 12v or 120v to run various items including our LED signs.
Purchases and activities in the past few months have included:
restocking our first aid kits
a new computer(replacing a slow, in-house built machine)
new Honda 2000i generator(complementing our existing generator purchased through a Health Dept. grant)
new Icom portable radios for all members(radios ID with other depts. to insure safety of members during events)
a new dedicated MIG welder for aluminum welding
new windows were installed by an outside vendor in our garage(this makes our garage more energy efficient)
compressed air lines were routed to other parts of the EOC including the staff room for use
continued communications with SPD and SFD on current capital projects
vehicles have been run, generators have been tested
Designed and fabricated a new chop saw stand for our metal cutting chop saw
Designed and fabricated a plastic bending table
Assembled evacuation kits for use in a small sheltering event for town residents
end of fiscal year activities have begun
SCD is ready for our annual drill at Sharon's Fourth of July Fireworks
