After the events of the Halloween Snow Storm of 2011, it was determined that Sharon High School will be the mass sheltering location for residents. If a smaller warming center or small number of residents need shelter, the Town Hall will be used.
CD needed to know the capability of the HS emergency power for the shelter. CD members and Fire Chief Wright met with the school electrician to go over the emergency power capabilities. The group toured the building, looked at emergency panels, and went over blueprints of the building.
It was determined that all emergency panels need to be clearly marked. Also only certain classrooms have outlets available during generator power.
CD members and the school electrician made a list of items that needed to be purchased and installed to allow flexible capabilities for the shelter.
